I love how Kara’s first instinct is to take a step back and shield Lena rather than step forward to calm everyone down. That kind of body language is a dead giveaway on what’s important to her in a possible moment of danger. Her priority is always to protect Lena even when they are on bad terms. It is also telling how Kara was so focused on their conversation that she didn’t even hear Alex and Nia outside her door.
